Required Training for Newly Enrolling NC Medicaid and Health Choice Providers

According to the North Carolina (NC) State Senate Bill 496 108C-9.c, all newly enrolling N.C. Medicaid and N.C. Health Choice (NCHC) providers must complete N.C. Medicaid and NCHC Provider Online Training.

As the bill states:

Prior to being initially enrolled in the North Carolina Medicaid or Health Choice program, an applicant’s representative shall attend training.

The training is subject to change every six months due to biannual updates to the Provider Claims and Billing Assistance Guide, which is available on the Provider Policies, Manuals, and Guidelines page of the NCTracks Provider Portal.

On March 6, 2014, updates were made to the N.C. Medicaid and NCHC Provider Online Training curriculum. The most recent training curriculum must be completed for all newly enrolling providers.
