Reminder - Webinar Offered Monday About Modification to Medicaid Visits Per Year
A webinar is being offered on Monday, December 16, about modifications to Medicaid visits per year. Please see details below. (This session is for providers who could not attend the webinar on December 12. The same information will be discussed in both webinars.)
Webinar: Modification to visits for Medicaid beneficiaries by physicians, nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, physician assistants, clinics and health departments
Topic: Modification to visits allowed per Medicaid recipient per fiscal year for professional services provided by physicians, nurse practitioners, nurse-midwives, physician assistants, clinics and health departments due to Session Law 2013-360.
Date: Monday, December 16, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
We will discuss the differences in legislation defining visit limits in Session Law 2007 and Session Law 2013:
1- Session law 2007-326- reimbursement for visits per recipient per fiscal year
2- Session law 2013-360- requirement for prior authorization for visits in excess of 10 within a year. This limitation and prior authorization requirement does not apply to chronic conditions.
Input is needed from stakeholders as a result of Session Law 2013-360 to assist with:
• Defining chronic conditions
• Defining visit limit by adding Prior Approval process
• Defining what circumstances would allow Prior Approval if not chronic conditions
