Enhanced payments due to the Affordable Care Act
Beginning this week, providers who have been certified by the State will start to receive enhanced payments associated with the Affordable Care Act. The Affordable Care Act requires that the Medicaid program pay at the Medicare rate for certain primary care services and to reimburse 100% Medicare Cost Share for services paid in calendar years 2013 and 2014. Providers who wish to receive the enhanced rate must attest to their qualifications.
The payments reflected in this week's checkwrite are for claims received during the prior week. Retroactive reimbursement for claims submitted since January 1 will be undertaken shortly. No action is required on the part of certified providers to receive retroactive reimbursement.
