Prior Approval No Longer Needed for Flovent HFA Inhalers

Effective February 3, 2018, Flovent HFA Inhalers moved to preferred status on the NC Medicaid and NC Health Choice Preferred Drug List to allow providers another preferred inhaled corticosteroid option. While this change was being implemented in NCTracks, some point-of-sale pharmacy claims were denying for prior approval (PA) required. However, the full implementation in NCTracks has been completed and claims will no longer deny for PA required.
