Update on Prior Approval for Flovent HFA Inhalers

Effective February 3, 2018, Flovent HFA Inhalers have been moved to preferred status on the NC Medicaid and NC Health Choice Preferred Drug List to allow providers another preferred inhaled corticosteroid option. While this change is being implemented in NCTracks, some point-of-sale pharmacy claims may still deny for prior approval required. Therefore, all prior approval requests are currently being approved for Flovent HFA Inhalers. The prior approval request may be submitted by the pharmacist or prescriber. The full implementation in NCTracks is expected later this week and an update will be posted at that time.
