Joint Communication re: DSM-5 for Behavioral Health Providers

The North Carolina Division of Medical Assistance (DMA) and Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Abuse Services (DMH/DD/SAS) have issued a joint communication bulletin regarding DSM-5. (See link below)

The DSM-5 changes will apply to:
* DMH/DD/SAS and DMA behavioral health services covered by the LME-MCOs; and
* Behavioral health services authorized by Value Options and paid by NC Tracks for Health Choice.
The effective start date for DSM-5 will be August 1, 2014.

Behavioral health providers are encouraged to review this important communication.
