Upcoming Provider Training in March 2016
Registration is now open for several instructor-led training courses for providers that will be held in March 2016. The duration varies depending on the course. Following are details on the courses, the dates and times they are being offered, and instructions for how to enroll:
Wednesday, March 2 – 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. – Using the Provider Message Center Inbox (WebEx)
This course will guide authorized users on how to use the Provider Inbox within the Provider Message Center of NCTracks. At the end of training, user will be able to navigate within the Provider Message Center, search for messages, and retrieve messages. This course is taught via WebEx and can be attended remotely from any location with a telephone, computer and internet connection. The WebEx will be limited to 115 participants.
Friday, March 4 – 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. – New Office Administrator (WebEx)
This course shows authorized users the process for changing the current Office Administrator (OA) to a new Office Administrator for an Individual Provider or Organization with a National Provider Identification (NPI) number or Atypical Provider Number. At the end of training, participants will be able to update the Office Administrator for an Individual Provider or Organization, and upgrade existing users to Managing Relationships. This course is taught via WebEx and can be attended remotely from any location with a telephone, computer and internet connection. The WebEx will be limited to 115 participants.
Provider Re-Credentialing/Re-Verification Refresher (WebEx)
Tuesday, March 8 - 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Thursday, March 24 - 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
This course serves as a refresher for the steps to be taken by the provider to complete the Re-Verification process through NCTracks. It also covers the steps to enter information and submit a Manage Change Request (MCR) in the event the user is prompted to complete an MCR during Re-Verification/Re-Credentialing. At the end of training, user will be able to explain what provider Re-Verification is all about and why it is required, explain each phase of Re-Verification, complete the Re-Verification process in NCTracks, and complete a Manage Change Request for invalid or missing provider data. This course is taught via WebEx and can be attended remotely from any location with a telephone, computer and internet connection. The WebEx will be limited to 115 participants. (The same course is being offered on multiple dates.)
Thursday, March 10 - 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. - Medicaid for Pregnant Women Prior Approval (WebEx)
This course will provide an explanation of the Prior Approval requirements for Chiropractic and Podiatry Services for Medicaid for Pregnant Women beneficiaries. At the end of training, user will be able to understand the new process for referrals and prior approval for MPW chiropractic and podiatry services, know how to enter Prior Approval Requests in NCTracks, and know how to search for Prior Approvals in NCTracks. This course is taught via WebEx and can be attended remotely from any location with a telephone, computer and internet connection. The WebEx will be limited to 115 participants.
Wednesday, March 16 - 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. - Managed Care Referrals and Overrides
This course shows authorized users how to submit Managed Care Referrals and inquire about Managed Care Referrals and Overrides. At the end of training, the user will be able to submit Managed Care Referrals and conduct inquiries about Managed Care Referrals and Overrides using the secure NCTracks Provider Portal. This course will be offered at the CSC facility in Raleigh. It involves hands-on training and will be limited to 45 participants.
Thursday, March 17 – 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. - Create and Submit a PA for DME and Home Health Supply using Electronic Physician Signature (WebEx)
This course will guide users through the new process that allows the requesting provider to enter a prior approval (PA) request on the Provider portal and then route it through NCTracks to the prescribing provider for review and approval using an electronic signature (PIN). At the end of training, participants will be able to assign a user role to a provider, assign a DME or Home Health PA request to the Prescribing Provider, access the notification of the PA Request within the NCTracks Provider Portal Message Center, and accept, reject or revise a PA request electronically. This course is taught via WebEx and can be attended remotely from any location with a telephone, computer and internet connection. The WebEx will be limited to 115 participants.
Tuesday, March 22 – 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. - ES User Role_Abbreviated MCR_Upload Documents (WebEx)
This course will guide providers through the enhancements to the provider enrollment application processes. At the end of training, providers will be able to explain the Enrollment Specialist user role, identify the Abbreviated Manage Change Request (MCR) applications, and upload supporting documents. This course is taught via WebEx and can be attended remotely from any location with a telephone, computer and internet connection. The WebEx will be limited to 115 participants.

Providers can register for these courses in SkillPort, the NCTracks Learning Management System. Logon to the secure NCTracks Provider Portal and click Provider Training to access SkillPort. Open the folder labeled Provider Computer-Based Training (CBT) and Instructor Led Training (ILT). The courses can be found in the sub-folders labeled ILTs: On-site and ILTs: Remote via WebEx, depending on the format of the course. Refer to the Provider Training page of the public Provider Portal for specific instructions on how to use SkillPort. The Provider Training page also includes a quick reference regarding Java, which is required for the use of SkillPort.
