Update on Streamlined 271 Response

This is an update to the February 19 announcement. The new 271 response has been further modified so that each 2110C, EB segment will have a date. In addition, the effective date of this change was moved from March 1 to March 8.

Beginning Sunday, March 8, 2015, the X12 271 Eligibility Response will be streamlined to combine/string Service Type Codes in 2110C loop, EB03 segment based on the Plan Coverage Description in 2110C loop, EB05 segment and the copay amount in EB07 segment. This update does not change the Recipient’s eligibility information returned in the eligibility response. It is an effort to provide better readability of the X12 271 Eligibility Response.
