Spinal Surgeries Prior Approval Request Reminder

As a reminder, effective August 1, 2017, providers are to electronically submit prior approval (PA) requests through NCTracks for spinal surgeries. Uploading required prior approval documentation at the time of the submission expedites the review process. Among other PA required documentation listed in Clinical Coverage Policy 1A-30, office notes (including a current history and physical exam within the past thirty days and a post-operative plan of care) should be included in the initial documentation. Absence of these documents may cause a delay or denial of the PA request.
