Change in LTC Nursing Facility FL2 PA Submission

As of January 27, 2016, Long-term Care (LTC) Nursing Facility providers are required to enter all prior approval (PA) requests through the NCTracks Provider Portal. Fax and mail are no longer options to submit a completed FL2 to be entered into NCTracks.

If an FL2 form is submitted by fax or mail, a reject letter will be posted to the Message Center Inbox of the Office Administrator for the NPI and no PA will be created in the system.

When entering a LTC Nursing Facility prior approval request using the NCTracks Provider Portal for a recipient that is pending eligibility, you must include the recipient’s address with the other required demographic information. This is a required field when keying the FL2 PA request into the Provider Portal.

For more information on prior approval, see the NCTracks website.

Provider training is available on FL2 request submission through the NCTracks Provider Portal. Registration is now open for an Instructor-Led Training (ILT) course on Thursday, February 4, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This course is taught via WebEx and can be attended remotely from any location with a telephone, computer and internet connection.

There is also a Computer-based Training (CBT) course called “Long Term Care Services Prior Approval Request.”

To register for the ILT or CBT course, logon to the NCTracks Provider Portal and click Provider Training to access SkillPort. Open the folder labeled Provider Computer-Based Training (CBT) and Instructor Led Training (ILT). The ILT course can be found in the folder ILTs: On-site (although the course is a WebEx.) The CBT course can be found in the Prior Approval folder under CBTs. Refer to the Provider Training page of the public Provider Portal for specific instructions on how to use SkillPort. The Provider Training page also includes a quick reference regarding Java, which is required for the use of SkillPort.
