Update on PA Submission Issue

This is an update on the Prior Approval (PA) submission issue that was first reported on January 10. Providers were sometimes receiving the error message, “Object reference not set to an instance of an object,” which prevented them from submitting a PA request on the NCTracks provider portal.

The object reference error message is populating when providers are not adding a detail line to the PA.  If the provider submits the PA without adding a detail line, the requested begin date information is not captured on the PA record. The provider should receive an error message indicating that no detail line was added, but the object reference error message is displaying instead.

This issue is scheduled to be fixed on February 11. In the meantime, providers can avoid the object reference error message by making sure they have added a detail line to PAs before submitting them via the portal. Once the fix is implemented, if a PA is submitted without a detail line, the user will get a message that no detail line was added, which the user can correct and submit again.
