New Documentation and Coding Webcasts for Cardiology and Pediatrics

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) have posted newly released webcasts on ICD-10 documentation and coding concepts for cardiology and pediatrics. These webcasts are the second and third in the CMS "Road to 10" series designed to help providers with ICD-10 clinical documentation specific to a medical specialty. The first webcast posted was for orthopedics.

An AHIMA-certified coder presents on each webcast, which focuses on unique ICD-10 clinical documentation needs and hot topics for cardiology and pediatrics:

* Physician perspective/clinical impact of ICD-10
* Documentation requirements for certain conditions
* Documentation changes and new concepts
* Use of "unspecified" codes in ICD-10

In the coming weeks, CMS will be offering other webinars in the "Road to 10" series that will follow the same outline and objectives for other specialties, including obstetrics and gynecology (June 12), and family practice and internal medicine (June 17).
